Freelance Design is a new service we offer here in Nottingham at Luella’s Design Studio and we are super excited of the opportunities ahead of us!

I have recently quit my full time job, Yes! You heard it right, when the world has gone mad, our Government is to pot, the costs of fuel is ludicrous, food prices are increasing rapidly I decided to take ‘A RISK’. The biggest risk I have been wanting to take for so many years.

As I fastly approach my 40’s with a young toddler in toe I decided to jump right in, I haven’t looked back since!

I was in a chaotic job, the office was a toxic place to be, I felt like a grey cloud came over me as soon as I walked in the door that faded gently over night (faster at weekends!) and was back again by the morning. I was spinning lots of plates (something, I proudly do very well) but in this case more plates were being piled on top, for nothing extra than me, giving extra hours to cover it! ENOUGH, was ENOUGH and I too like the world went mad!! I smile about it now because I now see the light at the end of the tunnel, freedom to do what I wanted to do for so long and be my own boss, with work life balance at the core of my beliefs I did everything I could to get there!

So without further a do let me introduce to you our freelance services

• Product Design to include nightwear, underwear, socks, swimwear, loungewear, tees and more..
• License Design to include all above categories and more, we work with styleguides (provided by you) to create fun loving products for your customers.
• Packaging Design – we can create all your packaging needs; from swing tickets to cascades, gift boxes and more
• License Approvals – we can help you follow the process with the licensor to ensure from initial cad concept to end production follows all their brand guidelines.
• Product Development – need us to work on development with your factory? We have years of experience briefing factories to achieve the right products, fit for purpose
• Trend Boards – need help with initial direction and mood imagery to get your designs across in Selection meetings and sign offs? We can help with this too!
• Bitmaps – need help with the technical side, we can produce your bmp files ready to load onto the knitting machine for stitch for stitch perfect designs.

So out with the old, in with the new and in the words of Mickey Mouse “Oh boy” we are excited. I have to share this with you… I have already discovered my creative output has maximised, I have a healthier mind and the freedom to work where I want, when I want BUT giving you the best end result; ON TREND, FASHIONABLE, COMMERCIAL, SALEABLE PRODUCTS and it feels good!
